PARVAT BUDDIES: KALSUBAI Trek to the Highest Peak of Maharashtra (Offbeat Routes) on 28-29th Sept 2019.

Some Info about the place:
Mt. KALSUBAI (1646m/5400ft) needs no introduction! We all have studied Geography in school and know that this is the highest peak in the state of Maharashtra. It surely takes some good endurance and a patient mind to scale the “Everest of Maharashtra”. Reaching the top of this ‘Everest’ would not only give you an unmatched feeling of joy and confidence, but you would also be rewarded with a beautiful view of the surrounding valleys, lakes and hill ranges. Popular peaks of Kirda, Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Pandhra, Mordhan, Avandh, Patta, Ratangad etc can be seen from this peak. Beautiful views of Bhandardara Lake cannot be missed too. A temple dedicated to the legendary Kalsu-Devi (the goddess of women’s liberation) is situated on top of this mountain. Hence, a trek to Kalsubai definitely finds place in every trekkers’ ‘must-visit’ list.

Our Plan:
So what we are going to do differently from the rest of the crowd is approach the mountain from its challenging unexplored Northern slope and descend through another offbeat untouched route so that you get the best trekking experience. September is considered to be an ideal month for trekking in the Sahyadri. There is freshness in the air with the monsoon leaving behind a carpet of greenery adorned with wildflowers. During this trek, we will come across several villagers who are mainly farmers, shepherds and local devotees – it would be a nice experience to interact with them, hear their stories and know something about their way of life. It is always a very good experience hearing the Legend of the Devi from the local folks. You’d also enjoy some delicious local food and hospitality too.

Grade: Moderate-Tough.
Endurance: High.
Approx Trek Distance: 12 kms.
Approx Climb: ~800m/2625ft.
Special Features: Highest Peak Of Maharashtra, Unexplored Routes, Temples, Flowers.

Suitability:
This trek is best suited to regular trekkers or for someone who has prior trek experience but beginners who are physically and mentally fit and having proper trekking shoes can also join. We would not recommend this trek for kids.

Offerings: Travel, Meals, Toilet & accommodation facility, First Aid, Route & Trek Guidance
Cost: Rs.1300/- per person

Why PARVAT BUDDIES?
Extensive painstaking preparations have been carried out by our team of experienced leaders in planning and organising this trek for you. Our leaders are well versed with the terrain and have a trekking experience of about a decade in the Sahyadri. Your safety is our prime goal so rest assured that we will take good care of you during the trek. Our USP is that we prefer to trek in small sized groups so as to have a better bonding and interaction among our participants. The average group size of our events is around 15 people making our events much more enjoyable and memorable. We maintain a reasonable Leader to Participant ratio which is about 1:10 on an average. We also have a good number of female participants joining our events. On an average around 40% of our participants in the past have been females, proving that we are a gender friendly group. Wherever feasible, we try our best to arrange private transport from Mumbai for your comfort. All your meals during this trek will be taken care of by us so you need not bother about cooking and packing anything from home. We always carry a basic first aid kit with us. We follow a ‘Leave No Trace’ Policy and try our best to leave a minimum possible impact on our ecology while conducting the treks. We respect the Mountains and follow a set of rules to ensure discipline in our outdoor activities.
